HOW IT WORKS:

The Spell-a-thon is a written spelling test given to all students af ter the end-of-school be l l

on Friday October 19th (2:38pm). The difficulty of the words are based on grade-level

standards. Kinders and TK’s are asked to wri te capital letters. A practice sheet is attached.

Fundraising is based on pledges: flat donations and/or specific dollar amounts for each

correct word/letter. A pledge sheet is attached with more details. Students are NOT required

to fundraise to participate. Graded tests will be returned to students on October 22nd for Per-word/letter pledges.

ON THE DAY OF THE TEST:

On Friday October 19th, please allow your student 10-15

minutes after the regular pick up time(2:38pm) to complete

the test and arrive accordingly to pick them up.

TK’s, Kinders, and 1st graders will remain in their classrooms

until they are picked up by a parent or guardian or after-school

activity (such as STAR or Glee) per usual.

2nd grade and above will be dismissed after the test per usual

to meet their guardians or attend their after school programs.
